what i do

My forte lies in the relentless pursuit of "capturing the moment" during a performance or event. I find that even without my camera, I'm constantly thinking of ways to compose a shot, to put it quite simply, I'm always in photographer-mode. Being the type of person that isn't too big on social interaction, this works out to my advantage since it gives me more opportunities to examine situations and figure out how I'd go about photographing those situations if I were asked to.

I have to admit that I find small scale (things that don't involve an actual studio with a backdrop) studio photography quite enjoyable. It's a very fulfilling feeling to see an object, contemplate how it would be best photographed, then spend an hour setting everything up, get the lighting just right, and then successfully capture the image just the way you had envisioned it.

By trade I'm a professional web designer and programmer. I put a lot of effort into all my work, and pride myself on always creating the heart of my code by hand. Not many people realize how the web has changed behind the scenes, and now the only thing holding advancement back are the legions of designers using heavily outdated and improper techniques and methods. Now that so many devices are accessing the web, it's important to have clean, proper XHTML/CSS that adheres to W3C standards to maximize the audience that will be able to satisfactorily view your site. Being both photographer and designer comes in handy when the end result is for web or print, since it enables me to know what will and what won't work, minimizing errors and dead ends. When the need for interactivity arises, it's convenient to fall back on five years of server-side programming experience to eliminate the need for any non-conforming and/or expensive third party involvement.

If any of this sounds ideal for you, contact me and we can discuss the services I can provide.
